Many Thanks Barry

We salute you, Barry Gomersall
We have put you to the Test
You went in fighting for all of us.
You did your very best
Don’t hang your head and wonder
"Where the hell did I go wrong"
Lift your head high, be proud of yourself,
The votes for you were strong.
When it came to the crunch,
You were the one with all the punch.
As for Mr Ted Malone
If he gets in he didn’t do it on his own!
You beat him one on one
But we didn’t know the outcome
Until the final count is done.
You know Friendship comes from Kindness seeds.
That we planted, here and there.
And when they bloom, we have some Friends
That share our every care.
So keep your head held high dear friend
And onward, you must forge
This thanks comes from the very heart of
All your friends in Finch Hatton Gorge.

The Animal's Lament

We can’t speak to you,
So we’ll rely on this,
We are hearing it again,
There is something amiss.

Possum said "it’s "The Dam" again,"
"I heard that too," peeped the Red Backed Fairy Wren,
"What can we do," called the Fan Tail Cuckoo,
"We’ll lose our homes," cried the spectacled Monarch,
"No we won’t," growled Goanna,
"There will be a fight,
"There are People who live here,
"They know it’s not right."

"Don’t cry, Silvereye, croaked the endangered Torrent Frog,
"Walk to Work," called the Noisy Pitta,
"Will we do that again,’
"Of course we will," said the White Browed Scrubwren,
"We have children, they rely on us,
"What’s the world coming to, " peeped the Grey Shrike Thrush
"What about us," chorused Lizard and Bandicoot,
"Because we’re on the ground, they won’t give a hoot,
"They’ll kill us with the Bulldozers,
"Pile our homes in a heap, then burn the survivors,
"There will be no escape!!!!!!

"It won’t happen," called Kookaburra,
"There will be no fuss," said Platypus,
"We have friends in our gorge,
"These people will fight with all their might, because
"We Are the Enviroment…
